Fee and Discount Policies
Publication Fees
To support researchers and authors from Latin American countries, Revista Alergia México aims to reduce the existing gap in digital research and ensure equitable access to open-access publication for authors in the region.
The applicable fees are as follows:
-
Articles or Communications: $150.00 to $300.00 USD per article *
-
Special Supplements: $200.00 to $300.00 USD per page, plus editorial costs
*Includes editorial style correction services.
These fees contribute to the recovery of production costs, technological support, editorial services, and the overall management of the journal. A portion of the collected payments is allocated to a fee exemption fund to assist authors without external or institutional funding.
Payment Process
Revista Alergia México has partnered with the Stripe platform to process author payments. Once an article is accepted for publication, the corresponding author will receive an email with detailed instructions and a link to complete the payment securely via Stripe or generate an invoice for payment by check, bank transfer, or other means. Accepted articles will not be published until payment has been received.
To keep costs low and sustain the exemption fund, authors who can afford to pay publication fees are encouraged not to request discounts or exemptions. In the case of co-authored articles, if at least one author has the ability to pay, it is expected that they cover the publication fee partially or fully.
Discounts and Exemptions
To ensure equitable access to publication, Revista Alergia México offers various discount and exemption programs:
-
Discount for members of the Colegio Mexicano de Alergia, Asma e Inmunología Clínica (CMICA): Members in good standing may request a 10% discount by submitting a written request.
-
Discounts for authors from low- and middle-income countries: Corresponding authors whose primary affiliations are eligible will automatically receive a 50% discount when making their payment. To request a full exemption, a request must be made during the submission process.
-
Fee Exemptions: Authors who cannot cover the publication fee may request a waiver during the submission process. A member of the editorial team will evaluate the request based on the availability of the fee exemption fund. Exemption requests do not influence editorial decisions and will not be considered once an article has been accepted.
Publications with Financial Support
Supplements and articles funded by institutions, industry sponsorships, or those intended for dissemination with third-party interests will be charged according to the guidelines set by the Administrative Council of Revista Alergia México, with the endorsement of the Colegio Mexicano de Inmunología Clínica y Alergia.
