Preprint Policy – Revista Alergia México
Revista Alergia México actively supports the early dissemination of scientific knowledge through preprint servers. We endorse the LatArXiv Preprints initiative, an open-access platform for preliminary manuscripts in biomedical sciences across Latin America.
As of 2025, Revista Alergia México is participating in a transparent publishing model that allows authors to post their manuscript as a preprint while it is under review. This initiative is part of our commitment to open science, increased research visibility, and continuous manuscript improvement.
Benefits of opting for preprint:
-
Simultaneous preprint posting at the time of manuscript submission to Revista Alergia México, with no additional steps required.
-
Immediate visibility of the research to the global scientific community, even before formal acceptance.
-
Transparent peer review process, with the possibility of open tracking.
-
Assignment of a persistent identifier (DOI) that makes the preprint citable, discoverable, and shareable.
-
Early community feedback that can be used to strengthen the final version of the manuscript.
Procedure:
-
Authors may upload their manuscript to LatArXiv at the same time as submitting to Revista Alergia México, clearly indicating that the article is "under review" with our journal.
-
We encourage authors to link the preprint to the submitted version and to name our journal in the preprint metadata.
-
Upon acceptance, authors are encouraged to update the preprint with the article citation and final DOI.
Ethical and editorial considerations:
-
Posting on a preprint server does not constitute prior publication and will not influence editorial evaluation.
-
Manuscripts containing clinical data must have appropriate ethical registration and informed consent, when applicable, before being posted as preprints.
-
Authors are responsible for ensuring that preprint content complies with ethical, confidentiality, and conflict of interest standards.
With this policy, Revista Alergia México reaffirms its commitment to the timely dissemination of scientific knowledge and to the principles of open science, collaboration, and editorial transparency.
